Google Announced “Android Wear” Operating System for Smartwatches

Google telah mengumumkan Android Wear, sebuah versi sistem operasi mobile-nya diperuntukkan bagi smartwatches dan perangkat wearables lainnya. Menurut Google di official blog-nya, mereka sudah bekerjasama dengan beberapa industri elektronik seperti Asus, HTC, LG, Motorola dan Samsung serta pabik pembuat chip Boradcom, Imagination, Intel, Mediatek dan Qualcomm. Saat ini Android Wear lebih fokus ke smartwatches dan saat ini sudah bekerja sama dengan salah satu fashion brands Fosil Group.

Android Wear berfokus pada notification yang cepat untuk menampilkan informasi yang diperlukan pengguna smartwatches sekaligus mengurangi interaksi yang minimum dengan perangkat.  Berikut katalog yang diberikan Android Wear dari blognya:

• Useful information when you need it most. Android Wear shows you info and suggestions you need, right when you need them. The wide variety of Android applications means you’ll receive the latest posts and updates from your favorite social apps, chats from your preferred messaging apps, notifications from shopping, news and photography apps, and more. 
• Straight answers to spoken questions. Just say “Ok Google” to ask questions, like how many calories are in an avocado, what time your flight leaves, and the score of the game. Or say “Ok Google” to get stuff done, like calling a taxi, sending a text, making a restaurant reservation or setting an alarm. 
• The ability to better monitor your health and fitness. Hit your exercise goals with reminders and fitness summaries from Android Wear. Your favorite fitness apps can give you real-time speed, distance and time information on your wrist for your run, cycle or walk.

A Wonderful Apps for iOS Device “Cameo” Just Became Part of “Vimeo”

Pernah menggunakan aplikasi video editing “Cameo” di iPhone? Aplikasi ini memang sangat menarik dan mudah sekali menggunakannya, mulai dari shooting, editing, menambahkan musik background sampai penggunaan efek-efek video dan share atau upload secara instant. Aplikasi “Cameo” yang pernah menjadi salah satu aplikasi “App Store Best Of 2013” ini kemarin mengumumkan lewat blognya kalau diakuisisi oleh Vimeo, salah satu layanan video hosting ternama pesaing YouTube.

Facebook Introduce the Facebook Messenger for Android Beta Testing Program

Facebook hari ini mengumumkan lewat Enginering Blog program beta testing Facebook Messenger for Android yang memungkinkan pengguna Android yang berminat membantu Facebook mencoba terlebih dahulu versi beta sebelum rilis resmi ke publik.  Sebelumnya di bulan Juni tahun lalu Facebook sudah meluncurkan program yang sama an kali ini Facebook menjanjikan akan update perbaikan setiap minggu dari masukan peserta beta testing ini.

WhatsApp Messenger For iPhone Update V.2.11.8 With New Privacy Setting

WhatsApp, salah satu aplikasi instant messenger ternama yang beberapa waktu lalu diakuisisi Facebook senilai $19 Billion hari ini merilis update terbaru aplikasi bagi pengguna iPhone terutama yang memiliki OS 4.3 ke atas. Seperti update terbaru kemarin buat pengguna Android dan BlackBerry 10, kali ini update mengutamakan tambahan Setting Privacy pengguna.

Bagi pengguna iPhone silahkan update WhatsApp for iPhone V.2.11.8 di Apple’s App Store dan silahkan buka bagian Setting > Account > Privacy, di versi terbaru ada tambahan fitur pengaturan Privacy yang meliputi “Last Seen“, “Profile Photo” dan “Status” dengan pilihan pengaturan “Nobody“, “My Contacts” dan “Everyone“. Hal ini penting buat menghindari “stalking” dari orang lain atau teman kita sendiri. Update terbaru lain di versi 2.11.8 adalah tambahan koleksi chat wallpaper yang bisa kita pilih.

Update terbaru aplikasi Facebook for Android yang rilis tanggal 13 Maret 2014 kemaren banyak menambahkan fitur-fitur dan perbaikan khususnya fitur foto dan fitur buat admin groups.

Saat ini dengan aplikasi terbaru dapat menambahkan foto saat kita berkomentar, melakukan edit dan menghapus album foto, menghilangkan tag (untag) kita sendiri di foto yang diposting temen kita. Sedangkan bagi groups admins ada improvement yang dapat memudahkan pekerjaan admins untuk melakukan pin atau unpin postingan, melakukan review postingan member yang masuk pending serta melakukan tindakan “reported posts”.

Walt Disney Records will release DCONSTRUCTED, a comprehensive compilation of classic and current music from the longstanding Disney catalog remixed by today’s hottest DJs/producers from across the globe. The 14-track collection features reworks of material from the multiple Academy Award®-winning films The Lion King and Frozen, as well as two of Daft Punk’s contributions to TRON: Legacy.

EDM superstars Avicii, Armin Van Buuren and Kaskade are among the electronic dance music luminaries that have lent their formidable skills to these timeless favorites. The reworked material ranges from more recent heartwarmers from Monsters University, The Incredibles, and The Muppets to beloved and lasting sounds from the Hawaiiannette album featuring the beloved Mickey Mouse Club darling, Annette Funicello, Toy Story, Sleeping Beauty, Dumbo, as well as music inspired by the original Mickey Mouse cartoons, and the enduring theme from the Disneyland Park’s Main Street Electrical Parade.

The blending of the orchestral world of Disney with the synthetic sounds of the electronic world brings out fresh flavors. The recognizable cries and roars of The Lion King’s “Circle Of Life” mix headily with Mat Zo’s growling basslines and razor-sharp synth stabs. The newly minted Oscar® winner for Best Original Song “Let It Go,” is transformed to a peak-of-the-night banger with Armin Van Buuren’s tranced out take on Idina Menzel’s sparkling vocals.

Says Van Buuren, “I feel incredibly honored to have remixed an Oscar-winning song—though I didn’t know that yet when I started.”

“My first remix of Daft Punk’s TRON: Legacy was so long ago, but it was a significant moment of recognition in my career,” says Avicii. “It’s great to be a part of it again, to refresh the track, and to let everyone hear Negin’s voice.”

The makeovers of these universally appealing songs show off their renovations the most when the sounds from over half a century ago are brought to the present time. Stonebridge takes inspiration from the immutable Mickey Mouse cartoons for his new track, “Hey Pluto!” which takes Mickey’s identifiable squeak and Pluto’s barks and uses them as sound effects for the track’s creeping shuffles. Snippets of Sleeping Beauty’s carousel-like “Once Upon A Dream” are interspersed through Trion’s tweaked out remix and much of Main Street Electrical Parade’s feelgood vibe is maintained for the updated Extended Mix. Kaskade’s crafted approach to Dumbo’s sentimental “Baby Mine” maintains the original’s emotions bringing those to the present time with softly rounded beats and gently building house rhythms.
